I can't believe it's only one more week before I get to share our living/dining/kitchen makeover with you! I also can't believe I only have one more week to complete the space. One of the reasons I love doing the One Room Challenge is because I love showing amazing ways you can transform your home on a budget. You can do the work yourself. You can paint almost anything. You can find beautiful furniture and decor that meets your style and budget. We have never built a fireplace or storage bench before. We have never added trim to anything. But we figured it out. And you can too!
Here's what we were up to this week:
The Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo backsplash was installed. And it looks incredible! Jamie installed the stunning Delta Trinsic faucet from Home Depot Canada and it looks sooooo good. I love its simple, modern lines. We added trim to the top of the cabinets to disguise the bulkhead and finished building the bench. I think we could basically be considered Home Depot Canada employees with all the visits we made this week. The Hudson Valley Leigh lanterns went up too and, honestly, between all of this work, the painted cabinets and the pretty Emtek Jasper pulls, I can't even believe how much the kitchen has transformed. Here's a little peek at some of the progress. I wish I had a better photo to share but it's yet another rainy day here so I'm shooting in almost complete darkness.

The living room is coming together too. I painted the grey IKEA Havsta cabinets (which now come in white!) in the same blue as the island. The Minted art gallery wall is hung and looking amazing around the TV. I love that we went with this option instead of built-ins to the ceiling, which was the original plan. Again....sorry for the rainy day photo.

There's still lots left to do. I am off to Target right now to pick up two chairs and then it's time to put up the Spoonflower wallpaper I designed. I can't wait to get it on the walls! Here's what else is on my list:
- finish painting bench
- finish DIY fireplace
- source more items for styling
- order art
But first, I want to see what each of the other featured designers are up to! Which reveal are you most looking forward to?
