Cannabis is a psychoactive drug derived from the cannabis plant, which belongs to the Cannabaceae family. Ancient Indian, Chinese, Egyptian, and Islamic societies all used the drug. Cancer, chronic pain, depression, asthma, diabetes, glaucoma, migraines, epilepsy, multi-sclerosis, AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer’s, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Parkinson’s, and Tourette’s are among the disorders with which cannabis is now used. High awareness about the medical benefits of cannabis, surging demand for plant-based treatments in pain management, and increasing legalization of cannabis for medical purposes are some of the key factors driving the segment. In recent years, several countries have legalized the medical cannabis market, however, its prescription is dependent on physician’s choices and patient’s demands.
